in this culminating project, we were tasked to work in groups of three to create a photo book. This was an opportunity to practice systems thinking through the lens of visual storytelling, material form, and collective authorship. While the work of branding or identity systems often hinges on unifying disparate elements, this project asked us to find cohesion across a shared archive of images—without erasing the individuality of each contributor.
This publication is a reflection on our — MAYA ESKINDE, ALICIA GENTES, AND TRINITY STEINHILBER — fall semester as seniors in Rochester, New York. We’re choosing to reflect our perspectives through photos of the places we’ve gone together, things we’ve collected and how these impact our own creative natures through design and our relationship as a trio beyond the constraints of this book.
